AMPLY Power Integrates WattTime API to Enable Electric Fleets to Minimize and Report Total Greenhouse Gas Emissions

As pressure mounts for transportation fleets and their organizations to measure, reduce, and report total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, AMPLY Power taps environmental technology nonprofit WattTime to provide its electric vehicle, bus, and truck customers with access to emission reductions data and the ability to automatically charge when GHG emissions from electricity generating plants are low. The integration will: incorporate the decarbonization goals of each individual fleet; manage charging to meet those mandates; and enable fleets to calculate and report their Scope 2, or indirect, GHG inventories. AMPLY will offer it as a standard feature in the OMEGA platform. Additionally, it will be available to all AMPLY customers by the end of Q3 2021.

Gavin McCormick, WattTime cofounder and executive director, says access to carbon emissions insights is invaluable for fleets desiring charging efficiency. “With AMPLY, now fleets can automatically optimize their charging schedules for the smallest carbon footprint possible,” McCormick says.
